CISSP Boot camp - must take now
I briefly used Infosec Skills in the past, but this time I was scheduled to take a CISSP boot camp. I was skeptical at first because many of the boot camps I have taken before usually water hose you with information that you can read from the book by yourself. I ended up learning a lot more from the instructor about the information and how to prepare and take this certification exam. I have no doubt that the instructor, Steve Wright's guidance, played a huge factor in my understanding of the material and concepts as well as passing the exam.

An excellent choice to keep up with cybersecurity education
The field of information security is constantly evolving as new threats are discovered each day. Our consultants have to keep up with new knowledge and techniques to conduct pentesting, vulnerability remediation, computer forensic audits, and so on. Traditional training in cybersecurity is very expensive, lengthy, and lacks practical experience. To maintain your CISSP certification, you must earn 40 CPE credits per year, pay an annual maintenance fee and adhere to the ISC2 Code of Ethics.
How does the CISSP experience waiver work?
If you meet specific criteria, the CISSP experience waiver allows you to waive one year of the required professional work experience. One way is if you have a security-related degree from an accredited college. The other is to hold additional credentials from the ISC2 approved list. What are the CISSP concentrations?
There are three additional role-based certifications from ISC2 that CISSP holders can pursue:
- Information Systems Security Architecture Professional (ISSAP)
- Information Systems Security Engineering Professional (ISSEP)
- Information Systems Security Management Professional (ISSMP)
Before October 2023, the three certifications above required a CISSP certification and were often referred to CISSP specializations or concentrations (CISSP-ISSAP, CISSP-ISSEP and CISSP-ISSMP). However, ISC2 now allows an option for experienced professionals to earn their ISSAP, ISSEP or ISSMP without holding a CISSP.
