What does a capstone project look like?
This capstone is designed to help students develop skills in conducting, documenting, and reporting for penetration testing efforts and performing the ethical identification and exploitation of common system vulnerabilities.
In our Offensive Capstone: Mock Penetration Test & Findings Report, students are grouped into small teams and provided access to a mock lab environment containing VMs for an attacking Kali Linux machine and a target mock IT ecosystem.
Students will use a series of provided scoping documents to design and assess the target systems as they see fit given the project scope and restrictions provided. Upon completion of their assessment effort, students will then work with their teams to draft a summary presentation detailing their methods, findings, and any suggested mitigations or follow-ups in a manner suitable for a multi-stakeholder audience.
